24 Series Finale

On the other hand, this one was fabulous. Great closure. Will miss this show too.

Lost Finale Disappointing

Talk about a cop out ending! I will definitely miss the show, though.

Missing You

I am looking outside my window
at the sky
thinking that you are looking outside your window
at the same spot in the sky
as I am

Don't Leave Me Alone With My Thoughts

I laid there, staring at the ceiling and the cream colored walls. Alone with the air, darkness, my thoughts, my horrid blurry vision. I left my glasses at home. I left everything at home, save for my tshirt and pajama bottoms and socks. No bra even. No kitchen sink. I saw the light peeking through the door, a door I couldn't shut. When would this end?

Movie Review: Iron Man 2

A+ for the action.
A+ for the bells and whistles.
A+ for the cool fancy computer stuff.
F for the plot. Okay, D maybe.

I'm not one of those women who only loves romantic comedies. In fact, I dislike them unless they have a real plot and an unpredictable ending. My favorite movies are SciFi, fantasy, comedies, and zombie movies.

What I'm saying is that I'm all for guy movies, but ..peal off the A+ stuff mentioned above and there really isn't much substance to this flick. The love thing - eh. Saw that one coming. The conflict with Hammer - typical. Some of the humor - trite. Just because you spend a bazillion dollars on the action stuff does not give you the green light to go under on the plot. The things meant to be funny - saw right threw them. The funniest parts to me were the spinny thing on Penny's desk and Samuel L Jackson's eye patch. Haha, course I have to latch onto the most minute thing :).

Gleenobly's rating: 6/10.

Wait... What ...? Nooo ...LOL!

My husband and I were so tired that we fell asleep while watching BBC America. An hour or so later, I drifted awake to some surprises.

On the tube was two elderly women touring legal bunny ranches around the world so they could gain inspiration for a mobile bunny ranch in Britain. Yeah. Let it sink in.

The next show was about women who were so unhappy with their labias, that they went to some clinic to perform surgery to "pritty" it up. A 20 year old woman had the surgery done because she was tired of boys making fun of her labia and her sister spilling the beans to the boys. Can we say, you are missing the point?? You have more problems to deal with than - yeah. Then there were women who were depressed about their down there's, that they went to an artist guy who would take casts of their special place for his artwork to be displayed in museums. They showed the women laying on a table while the artist put blue goo-y stuff on their Chubakas. Wait ..what?? Say that again? Talk about bizarre - and then some. And more. Hey men out there, how would you like to have THAT job. .....My husband woke up to me vulturing him, saying that I am happy with my vagina.

These shows were all shades of wrong, but I couldn't stop staring! Then I felt like I needed to shower.

Painkiller Jane: Nothing to Fear But Fear Itself

“A daily ritual – cleansing ourselves. We wash our hair, our bodies, our hands, and our teeth. With all the lotions, soaps, and shampoos – none of it seems to reach below the surface. So, we do our best to cover up whatever we’re trying to hide. But with so much concealed, I often wonder what it would be like when it cracks, and what lies underneath comes rushing out, unable to be contained.”

“A president once said, we have nothing to fear but fear itself. Andre, one of the strongest men I know, admitted his fear to me. Even Maurine admitted her fear of losing control. I think my greatest weakness is the fear that I’ll be seen as weak. But I have to wonder if the vulnerable aren’t the strong and if those who wear their strength like a shield are the weak and frightened.”

“But I’m the one that heals and recovers quickly, remember?”
“Only on the outside. Get some rest, you’re sitting this one out.”

~Painkiller Jane from the 5/11/07 ‘Nothing to Fear But Fear Itself’ episode.

Wise Words From Painkiller Jane

“I’m not convinced we’re brought up to deal with our problems. Mostly we just distract ourselves when something tough comes up.

Giving your kids stuff to make up for not having time to talk to them can have serious consequences. Some turn to drugs, gangs, street life, and some find less destructive ways of dealing with it…[most distractions] keep you from having to fix your problems. Avoid them long enough, though, and you never end up living an honest life. At some point, you just got to stop distracting yourself and deal with what’s really bugging you…

When you’re young, you are given something good to distract from something bad. Then we grow up. Hard to say exactly when that happens, but it happens. And distractions? Seem harder to come by.”

~Painkiller Jane from 4/20/07 ‘Toy Soldiers’ episode.

Lost & 24

I am so sad that this is the final season for Lost & 24. Two of my favorite shows. I will miss them!

Drool

So I'm taking my break at work.  I put my elbow on the desk and prop my head on my hand.  Next thing I know, I do the whole snort thing, who am I, where am I as I wake up and it is 6 minutes later.  There is a waterfall of drool going down my arm.

Turkeys

A tubby, clumsy turkey "flew" over me as I was driving.  He propelled himself from the cliff over the cars, wings flailing in some misconstrued attempt at flying.  Luckily, he made it to the other side - unscathed.  Nobody ever asks how the turkey crosses the road.  This is how.  Gobble, gobble.

Welcome!

Welcome to my blog!  It was hard for me to sleep, so I decided to set up this puppy.  I will be posting movie reviews and topics involving humor, books, writing, and the occasional spin on life.  Stay tuned!
